About

Tina Zamani

My name is Tina and I would like to share with you my Reiki journey:I first discovered Reiki a few years ago, and as a trained scientist, I approached it with deep skepticism. But my very first session completely shifted my perspective. Without my practitioner ever touching me, I felt waves of heat radiating from her hands - like the warmth of the sun- and a profound sense of energy moving throughout my body. At times, it even felt as though she was in two places at once. That day, I realized something far beyond my understanding was at work, and I knew I wanted to learn more. Not long after, I enrolled in my first Reiki class, and what began as curiosity quickly became a life-changing path. Within a year, I completed Level II training, learning how to share Reiki across distance, and eventually became a Reiki Master in the Usui Tibetan Reiki lineage. My journey didn’t stop there. I was drawn to explore Jikiden Reiki, the original Japanese lineage that preserves Reiki in its purest, most traditional form. I’ve since completed both Shoden and Okuden training through the Jikiden Reiki Institute, deepening my practice and connection to this work.I now hold my certification as a Reiki Master in the Usui Tibetan Lineage and a Reiki Practitioner in the Jikiden Reiki Lineage; two very different approaches to this healing modality that have given me a much more comprehensive understanding of Reiki.Today, Reiki has become more than a practice for me - it is a way of life. My mission is to share Reiki with as many people as possible, because when we calm the body and mind and reconnect with our truest selves, we create the space for deep healing and transformation. My role is simply to be a channel for this energy, helping you return to the pure, balanced state that has always been within you. From that place, anything - whether physical, emotional, or spiritual - can begin to shift.

My Approach

Although I am trained in Western Reiki (Usui Tibetan lineage), my primary practice is traditional Jikiden Reiki. My approach is informed by techniques documented by medical professionals and registered nursing staff who observed Reiki’s effects across hundreds and in some cases, thousands of sessions. This clinical exposure gives my work clarity, intention, and a grounded, medically informed foundation.I believe traditional and modern medicine can and should work alongside one another. Reiki, as offered here, is not a medical treatment, diagnostic tool, or substitute for professional health care. Rather, it is a gentle, complementary modality that supports the body’s natural capacity to rest, regulate, and heal.My goal is to alleviate suffering through gentle, non-invasive support. Reiki is offered as a harmless and uncomplicated approach that works with the body rather than against it.This same form of care is increasingly used in integrative medical settings including hospitals, cancer centers, and pre- and post-operative environments, where it has been shown to support relaxation, reduce pain and anxiety, and improve overall well-being.From my own experience, Reiki can be profoundly transformative for both acute and chronic challenges, mental and physical, helping the body and mind release tension, restore balance, and engage their natural capacity for self-healing.My work is guided not only by intuition, but by integrity and reverence for the lineage of Reiki. I honor each person who enters this space and treat their healing process as sacred.I strive to create a space where you are met with compassion, authenticity, and care - where we listen to your body and allow the intelligence of Reiki to gently support your system’s return to balance and self-healing.

Frequently Asked Questions

If you are new to Reiki or have some reservations about it - I hope this page can help address your questions or concerns. If you have any other questions, don't hesitate to contact me.

What is Reiki?

Reiki is a gentle, natural healing practice from Japan that works with universal life energy. Through light touch or even at a distance, Reiki helps calm the body and mind, release stress, and support the body’s natural ability to restore balance.

How does Reiki work?

A Reiki practitioner acts as a channel for healing energy, allowing it to flow where it is most needed. Many people describe it as a warm or tingling sensation, a wave of calm, or a shift of energy moving through the body.

What does a Reiki session feel like?

Each experience is unique. Some people feel warmth, coolness, or gentle waves of energy. Others may feel deeply relaxed, peaceful, or even fall asleep. You may also notice emotions or memories rising to the surface as your body releases stress and tension.

Is Reiki safe?

Yes. Reiki is safe, non-invasive, and complementary to all forms of medical care and wellness practices. It does not interfere with other treatments and can support overall well-being.

Do I need to believe in Reiki for it to work?

No belief is required. Reiki is not tied to any religion or belief system. It works whether or not you understand it—simply being open to receiving is enough.

What is the difference between in-person and distance Reiki?

Both are equally effective. With distance Reiki, the practitioner sends energy across space, which means you can receive Reiki wherever you are in the world. Many people are surprised by how powerful remote sessions can be.

How should I prepare for a session?

For in-person session, you just need to show up. It's best to wear comfortable clothing so you can fully relax. For remote sessions you just need to be in a quiet, comfortable space where you can relax without interruption. You may also want to play calming music, or set an intention for your session to help you tune in.

What are the benefits of Reiki?

Reiki supports balance on all levels: physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual. Benefits often include stress relief, improved sleep, emotional clarity, pain reduction, and a greater sense of peace and connection.

Important Note:

Reiki is offered here as a complementary wellness support modality. It is not a medical, psychological, or diagnostic service. If you are under medical or mental-health care, Reiki is intended to support - not replace - those services. If you have a serious or acute condition, please consult a licensed health or mental health professional.
